Planning Engineer – SWRO Project

About the role

WSP is seeking a Planning Engineer to support the delivery of a seawater reverse osmosis (SWRO) project as part of the Owner’s Engineer team. The role focuses on monitoring, reviewing and reporting project schedules throughout design, construction, commissioning and hand‑over phases.

Key responsibilities

• Review, analyse and monitor the contractor’s baseline, recovery schedules and detailed work programmes, ensuring alignment with key milestones from NTP to PCOD.
• Provide high‑level input on resource planning and deployment based on construction progress.
• Support schedule reviews from an Owner’s Engineer perspective, emphasizing compliance, constructability and timely delivery.
• Track construction progress, compare actual performance against planned activities and highlight schedule concerns early.
• Conduct critical‑path analysis, schedule impact assessments and contribute to monthly progress reports and management presentations.
• Validate contractor progress updates, earned‑value assessments and assess schedule implications of variations.
• Coordinate with engineering, procurement, construction and commissioning teams to ensure integrated scheduling.
• Participate in project review meetings and present planning updates to stakeholders.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Mechanical or related engineering.
• 6–10 years of experience in project planning and scheduling for large industrial, infrastructure or desalination projects.
• Proven experience with EPC project lifecycles and construction methodologies, preferably in the Middle East.
• Strong analytical, reporting and problem‑solving abilities, with knowledge of risk management and delay analysis.
• Professional certifications such as PMP or Primavera P6 are preferred.
