Planning Engineer – Systems

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Planning Engineer (Systems) to join a leading international engineering and technology organization delivering large‑scale infrastructure and mobility projects in the UAE. The role will develop, monitor and control integrated project schedules, ensuring milestones are met while identifying risks and recovery opportunities.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, maintain and update detailed project schedules using Primavera P6.
• Prepare baseline schedules, work breakdown structures (WBS) and project execution plans.
• Monitor progress against approved baselines, identify variances and produce weekly/monthly progress reports and dashboards.
• Perform critical path and schedule impact analyses and forecast completion dates.
• Coordinate with project managers, engineering, procurement, construction and commissioning teams to ensure accurate planning information.
• Track productivity, earned value and progress measurement against planned targets.
• Support risk assessments, develop recovery plans and assist in extension of time (EOT) claims and schedule‑related contractual submissions.
• Participate in progress review meetings with internal stakeholders and clients.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Project Management or a related discipline.
• Minimum 6‑7 years of planning experience on large‑scale engineering or systems integration projects.
• Strong expertise in Primavera P6 and solid understanding of project controls, scheduling methodologies and planning best practices.
• Experience working in multidisciplinary engineering environments, preferably on EPC, turnkey or systems integration projects.
