Planning Manager

About the role

The Planning Manager will oversee and enhance turnkey project work programmes, monitor progress against plans, and ensure projects are completed within the agreed timeframes. The role also includes managing extension of time claims and coordinating with clients, suppliers and internal teams.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, maintain and update project schedules using Primavera or MS Project, ensuring alignment with contractual requirements.
• Coordinate with clients, suppliers and internal departments to keep all parties informed of schedule changes and critical milestones.
• Prepare and submit extension of time claims, using window and impact methodologies as required by the client.
• Analyse delays, recommend mitigation strategies, and produce weekly flash reports for senior management.
• Standardise labour forecasting, monitor actual vs budget labour usage, and raise early warnings on variances.
• Guide and train site engineers and the planning team on tracker usage and schedule management.
• Support estimation and bidding processes with accurate planning inputs and duration calculations.

Required profile

• Diploma or degree in Civil Engineering.
• 7‑10 years of experience in fit‑out or building projects, with at least 3‑5 years in a managerial planning role.
• Proven track record of handling high‑value commercial projects independently or leading a planning team.
