Plastic Surgery Specialist – Burn Unit

About the role

The Plastic Surgery Specialist will join the Burn Unit team to deliver high‑quality, evidence‑based care for patients with complex burn injuries. Working alongside a Consultant Physician, the specialist will lead assessments, develop treatment plans, and perform surgical interventions while supporting junior staff.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive patient assessments, obtain histories, and order/interpret diagnostic tests.
• Develop and implement personalized treatment plans, including medication, therapy, and surgical procedures.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and consult other specialists to ensure integrated care.
• Document clinical information accurately and comply with legal, regulatory, and hospital policies.
• Participate in quality‑improvement projects, clinical audits, and research activities.
• Provide supervision, instruction, and mentorship to residents, interns, and medical students.
• Communicate clearly with patients and families, obtaining informed consent for procedures.

Required profile

• MBBS or equivalent degree from a recognized medical school.
• Completed residency or fellowship in plastic surgery (or relevant burn‑care specialization).
• 2‑3 years of post‑specialization clinical experience.
• Valid DOH Abu Dhabi license or eligibility letter; current license from last practice country.
• Certificate of good standing from the relevant licensing authority.
• Successful completion of the DOH licensing exam.
• Fluency in English and Arabic; additional languages are a plus.
