PLC Engineer

About the role

The PLC Engineer will join BEUMER Group’s Operations & Maintenance team in Abu Dhabi, leading shift activities for baggage handling and material handling systems. You will act proactively to identify faults, implement solutions, and ensure contractual KPIs are met.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the BHS O&M team during shifts, coordinating with clients and stakeholders.
• Prepare engineering change requests and drive continuous system improvements.
• Guide the team through breakdowns, troubleshoot issues, and oversee recovery actions.
• Plan, schedule, and execute maintenance tasks according to OEM recommendations and site requirements.
• Conduct routine and random system inspections, review breakdowns, and develop preventive measures.
• Raise and follow up hotline cases, prepare incident reports, and validate daily reports.

Required profile

• Diploma in Electrical and Electronics Engineering.
• Experience with baggage or material handling systems is an advantage.

Required skills

• Servo drives & VFD knowledge.
• Step 7 PLC and TIA PLC programming.
• Profi‑bus, Profinet, Asi‑bus, RS 422/485, RS 232 communication.
• BHS interfaces – HLC/HBS/ATR and high‑level control systems (SAC, Sortation, CSC).
• Troubleshooting of HLC and LLC logs.
• Airport host systems (CUTE, AODB, MDS).
• VMware virtual machines.
• Data analytics.
• CrisBelt and CrisBag systems.
