PMC Civil Inspector - Oil & Gas

About the role

Wood is recruiting an experienced PMC Civil Inspector for an ADNOC Onshore client, based at an onshore site in Abu Dhabi within the Oil, Gas & New Energies business. The inspector inspects, monitors and verifies civil and structural construction activities during project execution, ensuring compliance with ADNOC standards, project specifications, approved procedures, quality plans and HSE requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Inspect civil works such as earthworks, backfilling, foundations, reinforcement, formwork, concrete pouring, structural steel foundations, grouting, roads, underground utilities and drainage.
• Verify contractor work against approved drawings, IFC drawings, method statements, ITPs, ADNOC standards and international codes (ACI, ASTM, BS, ISO).
• Witness soil compaction, concrete slump and cube strength tests, rebar inspections and survey checks.
• Review and approve contractor RFIs, identify non-conforming work and raise NCRs, and follow up corrective actions.
• Ensure work complies with ADNOC HSE rules and PTW procedures, and coordinate with construction, QA/QC, survey and HSE teams.
• Maintain daily inspection reports, punch lists and progress records, and take part in site walkdowns, pre-commissioning and final acceptance inspections.

Required profile

• Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering.
• Minimum 5 years of civil inspection experience in oil & gas or industrial construction.
• Previous ADNOC Onshore or major Middle East oil & gas project experience highly preferred.
• Experience in a PMC or consultant role is an advantage.

Required skills

• Knowledge of ADNOC standards, civil construction procedures, concrete technology and underground utilities.
• Ability to read civil and structural drawings, specifications, ITPs and method statements.
• Familiarity with ACI, ASTM, BS, ISO standards, PTW system and quality documentation.
• CSWIP or equivalent inspection certification advantageous; H2S and first aid/fire safety certificates preferred.
