PMC I&C Construction Engineer

About the role

Wood is looking for an experienced PMC Instrumentation and Control (I&C) Construction Engineer to act as the Owner's (ADNOC) representative within the PMC team. The engineer oversees and ensures that all construction activities carried out by EPC contractors are delivered safely, on schedule, within budget and in full compliance with ADNOC standards, project specifications and international best practice.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor and supervise EPC contractor construction activities for I&C discipline, checking compliance with approved drawings, method statements and IFC deliverables
• Validate contractor construction sequences, work packs and resource plans, and recommend mitigation for potential delays or conflicts
• Champion the "Zero Incident" safety culture, take part in safety audits, risk assessments and incident investigations, and intervene in unsafe acts
• Ensure works meet ADNOC standards and codes, witness inspections, tests and certifications, and manage ITPs, NCRs and close-out actions
• Act as the main PMC interface with EPC contractors, review progress, productivity and manpower reports, and support commercial and contracts teams on variations and claims
• Track progress against baseline schedules, identify critical path issues and coordinate recovery plans
• Coordinate with engineering, procurement, commissioning and operations teams, resolve technical queries and manage interfaces between contractors and disciplines
• Support pre-commissioning, commissioning, mechanical completion, system handover and punch list clearance

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering
• Minimum 10 years of experience in oil and gas projects, including at least 3 years in a similar position and 5+ years in a PMC role on ADNOC or similar Middle East projects
• Strong experience in large-scale EPC/EPCM projects (CAPEP greater than USD 500M)
• Familiarity with ADNOC standards, specifications and work practices is essential
• Qualified to obtain a CICPA and a UAE work visa
