Policy & Regulatory Affairs Lead – GCC

About the role

Remitly is seeking a senior professional to lead its Policy and Regulatory Affairs function across the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC). Reporting to the PRA Head of EMEA, you will act as the primary liaison with policymakers, regulators and key government stakeholders, shaping a fintech‑friendly environment for cross‑border payments.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute public policy and government affairs strategies that support Remitly’s business objectives in the GCC.
• Build and maintain relationships with policymakers, regulators and influential third‑party groups.
• Represent Remitly’s interests in industry associations and advocacy forums.
• Identify regulatory risks and opportunities, propose mitigation or enhancement strategies, and produce regular risk reports.
• Coordinate external advocacy campaigns and lead key outreach initiatives.
• Facilitate meetings between Remitly executives and government officials.

Required profile

• Proven experience engaging with policymakers and regulators in the financial services sector.
• Strong understanding of cross‑border payments regulations and fintech ecosystems.
• Entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to work independently and influence senior leadership.
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with fluency in English.
