Poultry Subject Matter Expert (SME)

About the role

The Poultry Subject Matter Expert (SME) will provide technical leadership and specialist expertise across all aspects of poultry breeding, production, health, nutrition and bio‑security for our operations in Abu Dhabi. The role focuses on developing and implementing management programs that optimise flock performance, ensure animal welfare and meet regulatory standards.

Key responsibilities

• Lead technical guidance on breeding, hatchery, broiler and layer production, advising on operational strategies and technology adoption.
• Design and oversee breeding, incubation, brooding, grow‑out and production programmes, monitoring fertility, hatchability, feed conversion, mortality and growth metrics.
• Develop and manage bio‑security and animal health programmes, collaborating with veterinarians on vaccination, disease surveillance and treatment.
• Provide nutrition and feeding recommendations, evaluate feed quality and work with nutritionists to improve feed efficiency.
• Analyse production data, create SOPs, conduct root‑cause analyses and drive continuous improvement initiatives.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Poultry Science, Animal Science, Veterinary Medicine, Agriculture or related field; Master’s or specialised certification preferred.
• 8‑12 years of progressive experience in commercial poultry production, breeding, hatchery operations or farm management.
• Proven technical leadership in breeder, broiler or layer operations.
