Powertrain Engineer

About the role

We are looking for a highly capable Powertrain Engineer to join our advanced R&D Mechanical Engineering team in Abu Dhabi. You will own the full powertrain development cycle, from concept through integration, testing and validation, working on internal combustion engine (ICE) integration and drivetrain architecture for complex mechanical platforms.

Key responsibilities

• Own end‑to‑end integration of ICE powertrain systems within mechanical platforms.
• Define and maintain system architecture for propulsion and drivetrain subsystems.
• Integrate engines, manage mounting, cooling, intake, exhaust, lubrication and accessories.
• Design and integrate gearboxes, reduction drives, clutches, belts, chains and CVT systems.
• Perform torque, power, vibration, fatigue and thermal load calculations.
• Conduct CAD‑based design, packaging studies, motion analysis and basic FEA validation.
• Participate in bench, integration and system validation testing, analyse data and drive iterative improvements.
• Collaborate with controls, electrical, manufacturing and supplier teams.
• Prepare technical documentation, assembly drawings and maintain interface control using PDM/PLM systems.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering (Master’s preferred).
• Minimum 5 + years of experience in powertrain, ICE or drivetrain engineering.
• Hands‑on experience with 2‑stroke or 4‑stroke internal combustion engines.
• Proven experience in prototype assembly, integration and troubleshooting.
