Practical Nurse – Occupational Health Nursing

About the role

The Practical Nurse provides patient‑centered care in an occupational health setting under the supervision of a Registered Nurse. Working in an outpatient clinic, the role supports daily living activities, monitors patient conditions and ensures accurate documentation.

Key responsibilities

• Assess and implement nursing care plans under RN supervision.
• Assist patients with daily activities, meals, hygiene and preparation for examinations.
• Report significant changes in patient condition to the RN immediately.
• Respond to emergencies according to organizational policies.
• Maintain clear verbal and written communication with patients and their representatives.
• Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to deliver efficient, patient‑focused care.
• Document care accurately in electronic medical records and support IT usage.
• Assist RNs and clerical staff with administrative duties as needed.
• Ensure exam rooms and clinic areas are stocked and prepared for each patient.
• Provide patients and families with comprehensive health information and resources.

Required profile

• Qualified Practical Nurse licensed to practice in Abu Dhabi.
• Works under direct supervision of a Registered Nurse.
• Committed to the professional Nurses Code of Conduct and organizational values.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and promote professional communication.
• Willingness to support cost‑effective resource utilization.

Required skills

• Electronic medical records (EMR) documentation.
• Vital signs measurement and basic nursing procedures.
