Pre‑Sales Consultant – Data Protection & DR (Veeam)

About the role

We are seeking a technically strong Pre‑Sales Consultant to own the technical side of data‑protection and disaster‑recovery deals. You will work closely with Account Managers, discover customer pain points, design backup/DR solutions, run proof‑of‑concepts and present designs to IT teams and senior management.

Key responsibilities

• Lead technical discovery calls, assess backup, storage and recovery requirements, and design end‑to‑end data‑protection solutions aligned with RTO/RPO, retention and compliance.
• Architect Veeam solutions (Backup & Replication, Data Platform, VBO365), size proxy/repository architectures, configure Scale‑Out Backup Repositories and backup copy jobs.
• Conduct live demonstrations, lead POC engagements and design immutable, ransomware‑resilient backup architectures.
• Integrate Veeam with SAN, NAS and object storage (S3, Azure Blob, MinIO), validate performance and perform capacity planning.
• Design backup and DR strategies for workloads on AWS, Azure, Google Cloud and for Microsoft 365, ensuring data‑sovereignty compliance.
• Prepare technical presentations, RFP/RFQ responses, handle objections and collaborate with Professional Services for smooth hand‑off.

Required profile

• 6‑8 years of experience in backup, disaster recovery, storage or infrastructure engineering.
• 2‑3 years of hands‑on experience designing or deploying Veeam Backup & Replication.
• Proven ability to run technical discovery workshops, deliver demos and POCs.
• Excellent communication skills, able to explain technical concepts to non‑technical audiences.
• Veeam Certified Engineer (VMCE) strongly preferred; candidates working towards VMCE are considered.
