Principal Applied Scientist

About the role

Inception42, a G42 company based in Abu Dhabi, is seeking a Principal Applied Scientist to lead cutting‑edge AI research and development. You will drive the creation and optimisation of advanced algorithms and deep‑learning models across computer vision, natural language processing and audio signal processing, delivering real‑world AI solutions for key industries.

Key responsibilities

• Design, analyse and optimise foundational and applied AI research to advance state‑of‑the‑art algorithms.
• Stay abreast of emerging AI trends and manipulate complex multimodal datasets.
• Develop innovative models that integrate text, audio and visual data for nuanced human‑machine interaction.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional researchers and engineers to ensure algorithmic efficiency, reliability and scalability.
• Work with product teams to embed new models into offerings and conduct proofs of concept for clients.
• Identify AI‑driven opportunities to improve customer business efficiency and provide technical support during pre‑ and post‑sales phases.

Required profile

• Strong research background in artificial intelligence and machine learning.
• Proven ability to translate research into production‑ready AI solutions.
• Excellent collaboration skills with multidisciplinary teams.
• Experience delivering AI projects for sectors such as finance, oil & gas, environmental science or healthcare.
