Principal Architect - Platforms

About the role

Core42 is seeking a Principal Platform Architect to shape the long‑term architecture of its cloud‑native ecosystem. This senior technical leadership position focuses on designing scalable, secure, and resilient Kubernetes and OpenShift platforms that support AI/ML workloads, managed services, and customer‑facing solutions across private, hybrid, and public clouds.

Key responsibilities

• Define and drive the architecture roadmap for Kubernetes, OpenShift, and related cloud‑native platforms.
• Design multi‑cluster, highly available Kubernetes architectures and establish platform engineering standards.
• Govern fleet management, hosted control‑plane solutions, and automation frameworks (GitOps, IaC).
• Set security baselines including RBAC, secrets management, encryption, and zero‑trust principles.
• Develop operational models for upgrades, lifecycle management, disaster recovery, and observability.
• Lead architecture reviews, governance discussions, and mentor engineering teams.
• Evaluate emerging technologies, run proof‑of‑concepts, and support incident analysis and capacity planning.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related field.
• 12+ years of experience in infrastructure, cloud platforms, and large‑scale Kubernetes/OpenShift deployments.
• Proven experience leading technical strategy and governance in complex, multi‑cloud environments.
