Principal Contract Management Specialist

About the role

The Principal Contract Management Specialist interprets internal and external business issues, recommends best practices, and solves complex contract‑management problems with minimal guidance. This role operates independently and is recognized as a specialist within the Project Controls function.

Key responsibilities

• Manage client relationships on prime contract issues.
• Handle flow‑downs from the prime contract to sub‑contracts and purchase orders.
• Oversee client correspondence covering technical and commercial matters.
• Manage change orders, rights, and obligations.
• Administer insurance and insurance‑claims processes.
• Ensure compliance with permit requirements and letter‑of‑credit obligations.
• Conduct risk management, including risk registers and warranty obligations.
• Report technical and commercial issues to the project directorate and joint‑venture/consortium partners.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Process Engineering, or a related field.
• 3‑5 years of experience in contract management, preferably on offshore, subsea, or onshore oil‑and‑gas projects.
• Experience with joint‑venture or consortium project execution.
• Direct reporting to a project director or executive‑level stakeholder.
• Strong contractual and commercial knowledge to ensure project compliance.
