Principal HSE Specialist

About the role

Worley is seeking a Principal HSE Specialist to lead health, safety, security and environment (HSSE) initiatives for a major project in Abu Dhabi. The role ensures that HSSE goals are achieved through strong leadership, proactive risk management and close collaboration with project teams.

Key responsibilities

• Champion a strong safety culture and drive engagement activities across the project.
• Lead a team of HSE professionals, including Lead HSE Engineers and Senior HSE Officers.
• Develop, implement and monitor HSE plans, procedures and emergency response arrangements.
• Track HSSEQ performance, analyse trends and report achievements to senior management.
• Provide HSE input during EPC design, tendering and construction phases to meet legal and Owner requirements.
• Ensure all subcontractors adhere to HSE standards and contractual obligations.

Required profile

• Proven leadership experience in HSE management on large engineering or construction projects.
• Deep knowledge of HSE management systems and relevant legislation.
• Strong analytical skills for incident investigation and root‑cause analysis.
• Excellent written and verbal communication in English.
• Ability to coordinate multi‑disciplinary teams and influence stakeholders.
