Principal Program Engineer – Mechanical (HVAC & Refrigeration)

About the role

The Principal Program Engineer will lead the development, implementation and execution of engineering programs for the Barakah Nuclear Power Plant (BNPP). This role focuses on mechanical systems, specifically HVAC, refrigeration, and thermal‑fluid systems, ensuring safe and reliable plant operation.

Key responsibilities

• Provide governance and oversight of the CRH (Cooling, Refrigeration, Heat) Program across all plant units.
• Maintain and optimize heat‑exchanger performance using efficiency and effectiveness methods, trending inspection data, and corrective actions.
• Guide the creation and maintenance of engineering program documentation, policies, procedures and software tools in line with regulatory and licensing requirements.
• Coordinate technical support with industry partners and review design changes or temporary modifications affecting program scope.
• Ensure compliance with health, safety, security and business continuity standards throughout program activities.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical or Electronic Engineering.
• Minimum of 8 years of experience in mechanical engineering, HVAC, refrigeration or thermal‑fluid systems within a high‑hazard environment.
• Demonstrated experience in engineering program governance, heat‑exchanger monitoring and data‑driven maintenance planning.
