Principal Social Consultant – Planning & Assessment (International E&S)

About the role

SLR is seeking a Principal Social Consultant to lead social performance and impact assessment projects from its Dubai office. The role focuses on large‑scale renewable energy and infrastructure developments across the UAE, KSA and the wider MENA region.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and manage Social Impact Assessments (SIAs), Human Rights Impact Assessments (HRIAs) and stakeholder engagement programmes.
• Develop and oversee livelihood restoration, land access studies and Resettlement Action Plans (RAPs) where required.
• Act as the primary social specialist and client interface on multidisciplinary ESIA and ESG advisory projects.
• Align projects with international standards such as IFC Performance Standards, World Bank ESS, EBRD Performance Requirements and the Equator Principles.
• Conduct social baseline studies, socio‑economic surveys, stakeholder mapping and vulnerability assessments.
• Provide strategic social risk and performance advice throughout planning, permitting, financing and implementation phases.
• Prepare, review and submit high‑quality technical deliverables and reports.

Required profile

• Extensive experience in social consulting for large‑scale infrastructure and renewable energy projects.
• Strong knowledge of international lender standards and regional regulatory requirements.
• Proven ability to manage multidisciplinary teams and engage with regulators, lenders, NGOs and affected communities.
• Commercially aware, proactive and solutions‑driven.
