Principal Solutions Architect - Integrations

About the role

Emirates Group is looking for a Principal Solutions Architect - Integrations to join its Architecture team in Dubai. The role leads the Enterprise Integration and API Modernisation programme from Enterprise Architecture, defining and leading the enterprise-wide integration architecture strategy, standards, roadmap and governance, and driving the adoption of modern integration capabilities such as API-first integrations, event-driven architecture, microservices and AI-ready integrations.

Key responsibilities

• Define and govern corporate and portfolio IT standards, guidelines and practices, and review the IT estate against them
• Track technology trends and lead updates to standards, assets and patterns
• Run Proof of Concepts and lead solution architecture for new initiatives, vendor acquisitions and system enhancements, using agile architecture practices
• Drive architecture decisions and be accountable for cost, schedule, complexity, technical debt and performance
• Lead solution design reviews and advise on standards, exceptions and patterns
• Act as lead architect for Teams of Teams or Agile Release Trains, and coordinate with peers and engineering teams
• Manage, coach and inspire Solutions Architects and Senior Engineers, and lead a wider virtual team of senior managers and subject matter experts
• Own the architecture roadmap and runway for complex projects, and act as product owner for technical enablers, modernization and quality improvements

Required profile

• Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering or a related discipline (12+3 or equivalent)
• 12+ years of IT experience, with at least 5+ years in integration, enterprise or solution architecture leadership roles in large-scale enterprise IT
• Technical leadership of a group of technical architects and senior developers, and ability to influence delivery plans
• Proven experience designing enterprise-scale integration platforms and leading API, integration and platform modernization initiatives (legacy transformation, cloud migration, AI enablement)
• Experience governing integration and API architecture standards, patterns and reference architectures
• Experience engaging Enterprise Architecture, Engineering, Security, Cloud and Business stakeholders at senior level

• Integration platforms such as SnapLogic, TIBCO, Informatica, Kong, Apigee, Kafka, RabbitMQ, Solace
• Cloud and container tools: Kubernetes, OpenShift, Docker, Terraform, GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps, Jenkins
• Observability and AI tools: Datadog, Dynatrace, Splunk, Elastic, OpenTelemetry, OpenAI, Anthropic, Google Vertex AI, Amazon Bedrock
• AWS/Azure Certified Solutions Architect preferred
