Principal Systems Engineer

About the role

Embark on a journey where your unique contributions are celebrated and professional growth is embraced at ADCB. The Principal Systems Engineer will lead the design, implementation and management of enterprise storage solutions within the Group Business Services team.

Key responsibilities

• Design, implement and maintain enterprise storage architectures (SAN, NAS, Object Storage) following ADCB engineering standards.
• Build reusable design patterns and components to meet business objectives, ensuring security, scalability and performance.
• Mentor engineers on best practices, technology trends and skills modernization.
• Oversee day‑to‑day implementation of technology roadmaps, change control, testing, incident and release management.
• Coordinate with external vendors to meet SLA and TAT commitments and address technical debt.
• Manage team performance, objectives and development in line with ADCB people‑management policies.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering or equivalent.
• Minimum 5 years of experience designing and deploying enterprise‑class storage solutions.
• At least 3 years of experience in incident management, software releases and configuration management within banking operations.

Required skills

• Enterprise Storage technologies: SAN, NAS, Object Storage.
• Platforms: IBM, Dell EMC (PowerMax, PowerStore), NetApp, Pure Storage.
• Storage services: replication, migration, snapshots, backup, Fibre Channel, zoning, RAID, capacity and performance management.
• Resilience and security: disaster recovery, business continuity, encryption, ransomware protection.
• Incident, change and release management, configuration management.
