Principal Wet Utilities Engineer

About the role

Parsons is seeking a highly experienced Principal Wet Utilities Engineer to lead complex water and wastewater projects in Abu Dhabi. You will be responsible for delivering sustainable water infrastructure solutions while ensuring regulatory compliance and technical excellence.

Key responsibilities

• Lead planning, design, and implementation of water supply, treatment, and distribution systems.
• Oversee feasibility studies, technical assessments, and design optimisation for large‑scale water projects.
• Perform hydraulic and hydrological modelling, water demand calculations, and reservoir planning.
• Supervise and mentor junior engineers, review technical reports, designs, and calculations.
• Coordinate with clients, contractors, government agencies, and stakeholders to align project goals.
• Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal water quality, safety, and environmental regulations.
• Prepare permits, environmental impact assessments, and project documentation.
• Conduct site inspections and resolve issues during construction and post‑contract phases.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering or related field (Master’s preferred).
• 10+ years of experience in water engineering, infrastructure design, and resource management.
• Proven track record of managing large‑scale water utility projects from concept to delivery.
• Strong leadership and communication skills to interact with multidisciplinary teams.

Required skills

• Hydraulic and hydrological modelling software (Infoworks WS, Bentley, Autodesk Civil 3D, Esri GIS).
• BIM for infrastructure, including network clash detection and resolution.
• Expertise in water treatment processes, distribution systems, and related environmental regulations.
