Procurement Officer

About the role

The Procurement Officer will lead the sourcing and acquisition of construction materials, equipment, and subcontractor services for civil projects. This role ensures cost‑effective purchasing while maintaining quality and timely delivery to project sites.

Key responsibilities

• Source, evaluate and negotiate with suppliers to secure competitive pricing.
• Prepare RFQs, purchase orders, contracts and monitor their execution.
• Coordinate material delivery schedules with project, planning and site teams.
• Maintain strong vendor and subcontractor relationships.
• Monitor supplier performance, material quality and compliance with specifications.
• Handle snagging and Defects Liability Period (DLP) procurement activities and support rectification work.
• Ensure all procurement actions adhere to company policies, budgets and contractual obligations.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree or diploma in Civil Engineering, Construction Management or a related field.
• 5‑6 years of procurement experience in civil construction projects.
• Proven knowledge of construction materials, subcontracting, vendor sourcing and contract negotiations.
• Experience preparing RFQs, purchase orders, comparative statements and procurement reports.
• Understanding of project budgets, cost control and procurement planning.
• Preferred experience with snagging and DLP activities.
• Strong negotiation, communication and stakeholder management abilities.
