Product Actuary - Employee Benefits

About the role

The EB Products Actuary will play a critical role in driving growth and profitability of MetLife Gulf’s Employee Benefits business across the UAE, Qatar, Oman, Kuwait and Bahrain. The focus is on group medical, life, disability and credit life insurance products, developing pricing strategies, designing new offerings and enhancing existing ones to meet market needs.

Key responsibilities

• Design and price competitive insurance products for group medical, life, disability and credit life, aligning with business objectives and local market demands.
• Develop and maintain actuarial models for pricing and financial projections, ensuring accuracy and compliance with MetLife’s Actuarial Practice Standards.
• Collaborate with underwriting, sales, finance, operations and claims teams to position and support product offerings.
• Monitor product financial performance, analyze variances and trends, and recommend pricing adjustments or enhancements.
• Prepare and present detailed reports and proposals to senior management, providing insights based on actuarial analysis.
• Stay informed of legislative and regulatory changes affecting product offerings and ensure full compliance.

Required profile

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics or a related field.
• Qualified (fellow/associate) or nearly qualified actuary with a recognized actuarial organization.
• Minimum of 5 years experience in pricing and product development for group medical, life, disability and credit life insurance.
• Strong analytical and decision‑making abilities with a problem‑solver mindset.
• Proven ability to communicate complex actuarial concepts to non‑technical stakeholders.
