Production Engineer – Painting

About the role

The Production Engineer – Painting will support the execution of painting and coating activities on oil and gas projects. Working under moderate supervision, the engineer applies production knowledge to solve routine technical issues and ensure compliance with project specifications.

Key responsibilities

• Review project scope, schedules and specifications to understand deliverables.
• Prepare scope of work and task listings; assess fabrication schedules and suggest corrections.
• Examine drawings for constructability and identify special items or subcontract requirements.
• Monitor material deliveries, review requisitions, and initiate site queries for substitutions.
• Provide field guidance, attend production meetings, and report concerns.
• Track scope changes, production revision orders, and weekly fabrication progress.
• Coordinate with construction engineers, subcontractors, and shop floor planning to ensure timely issuance of procedures.
• Approve relevant fabrication drawings and review work pack deliverables.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in oil and gas with a major contractor or consultant.
• Familiarity with API RP2A, AISC and AWS standards.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
