Programme Project Director

About the role

We are looking for a Programme Project Director to lead the planning, execution and delivery of large‑scale programmes and projects for Wasael Property Management in Abu Dhabi. The role ensures that all initiatives align with the company’s strategic objectives, budgets and quality standards while managing stakeholder expectations.

Key responsibilities

• Lead end‑to‑end delivery of assigned programmes and major projects from initiation through handover.
• Develop and implement delivery strategies, execution plans, schedules, budgets and governance frameworks.
• Provide direction to Project Managers, consultants, contractors and multidisciplinary teams.
• Monitor performance against milestones, KPIs, budgets and schedules, and report progress to executive management.
• Identify, assess and mitigate project risks, issues, dependencies and constraints.
• Oversee commercial aspects including budgets, cost forecasts, procurement, variations and claims.
• Coordinate with design, commercial, procurement, construction and operations functions to ensure seamless delivery.
• Manage relationships with clients, consultants, contractors, authorities and other key stakeholders.
• Chair progress meetings, approve plans, schedules, change requests and ensure regulatory and HSE compliance.
• Drive project completion, testing, commissioning, handover and lessons‑learned activities.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Project Management, Architecture or related field; Master’s or MBA is a plus.
• Extensive experience managing large‑scale, complex construction or property programmes.
• Strong leadership, communication and stakeholder‑management abilities.
• Proven track record of delivering projects on time, within budget and to quality standards.

Required skills

• PMP certification (or equivalent).
• PRINCE2 certification (or equivalent).
