Project Coordinator – Fit-Out & Joinery

About the role

JR Group is looking for a detail‑oriented Project Coordinator to manage the coordination of fit‑out and joinery workstreams in Dubai. The role acts as the central link between clients, designers, engineers and the joinery production team, ensuring projects move from concept to completion on time and within scope.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate communication and workflow between clients, design teams, engineering/site teams and the joinery production unit throughout the project lifecycle.
• Track project timelines, milestones and deliverables for both fit‑out and joinery scopes, flagging delays or issues proactively.
• Schedule and follow up on client meetings, design reviews and site/joinery coordination meetings.
• Maintain accurate project documentation, including drawings, shop drawings, approvals, change orders and correspondence.
• Liaise with the joinery workshop to ensure specifications, materials and timelines align with the overall fit‑out programme.
• Prepare progress updates and status reports for management and clients covering fit‑out and joinery status.
• Support procurement coordination for materials and finishes, including joinery‑specific items such as veneers, MDF grades and hardware.
• Assist in resolving day‑to‑day project and production issues, escalating when necessary.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Interior Design, Architecture, Engineering, Construction Management or a related field.
• 1–3 years of experience in project coordination within fit‑out, joinery, interior design or construction.
• Strong organisational and multitasking abilities to manage overlapping fit‑out and joinery timelines.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English (Arabic/Hindi a plus).
• Ability to read and understand architectural, interior and joinery/shop drawings.

Required skills

• Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
• Working knowledge of PlanSwift, AutoCAD or Primavera for reading and interpreting drawings and schedules.
• Familiarity with Bill of Quantities (BOQ) and Material Take‑Off (MTO) processes.
• Understanding of joinery materials and specifications (veneer, MDF, plywood, HPL).
• Basic knowledge of Dubai regulatory approval processes (Dubai Municipality, DDA, DCD, JAFZA, Trakhees).
