Project Cost Controller

About the role

The client, an international engineering and hard‑commodity group, seeks an experienced Project Cost Controller to oversee cost structures, budget compliance and financial discipline across large‑scale engineering projects.

Key responsibilities

• Calculate service costs (man‑hours, man‑days) and analyse contractor agreement costs.
• Verify acts and invoices, maintain cumulative calculations by contractors and services.
• Monitor project budgets, CAPEX and operational expenditures; track actual vs forecasted costs across pre‑FEED, FEED and execution phases.
• Analyse cost variances, identify financial risk areas and support project managers with corrective actions.
• Participate in annual budgeting, quarterly re‑forecasting and prepare detailed cost projections and scenario analyses.
• Support cash‑flow forecasting, review supplier contracts, monitor subcontractor and vendor payments.
• Prepare monthly cost reports, develop KPI dashboards and ensure compliance with company policies and international accounting standards.

Required profile

• Minimum 7 years of cost‑control experience in engineering, industrial, energy or hard‑commodity sectors.
• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Engineering Finance or related field; professional certification (ACCA, CPA, CMA) is a strong advantage.
• Highly structured, detail‑oriented with strong commercial acumen and ability to handle multiple cost centres.
• Fluent English (written and spoken) and high level of integrity and confidentiality.

Required skills

• Advanced Excel.
• ERP systems experience (SAP, Oracle or similar).
