Project Designer – Commercial/Mixed-Use

About the role

HKS, Inc. is seeking a recognized practitioner to collaborate with project teams on commercial and mixed‑use design projects across the United Arab Emirates. The role involves delivering high‑quality design solutions on time and within budget while mentoring staff and embodying the firm’s values.

Key responsibilities

• Work with senior designers and project teams on conceptual designs, presentations, design development and construction documents.
• Lead and guide project design, developing creative concepts and expanding on existing ideas.
• Coordinate with consultants, contractors, fabricators, furniture dealers and regulatory agencies to meet project objectives.
• Prepare schematic land and site planning drawings with graphic content for marketing and proposal requests.
• Perform design computations, product research and assist senior designers with material and system selections.
• Participate in team meetings to discuss project and technical issues and ensure coordination across disciplines.

Required profile

• Accredited professional degree in Architecture or a related field.
• Typically 8+ years of experience in architectural design, with architectural registration strongly preferred.
• Experience with sustainable design accreditation is a plus.

Required skills

• Advanced proficiency in Revit, Rhino, Grasshopper and Dynamo.
• Advanced skills in Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign.
• Intermediate skills in Twinmotion, Enscape and Bluebeam.
• Basic to intermediate experience with Navisworks and the full MS Office Suite.
