Project Director - Architectural Practice

About the role

A globally recognised architectural practice, known for landmark projects across sectors and focused on cultural, commercial and mixed-use developments, is expanding its portfolio and seeks an experienced Project Director. The role oversees several large-scale projects from concept to completion, ensuring delivery on time, within budget and to the highest design and construction standards. It is a leadership position involving strategic direction, team management and client relationship building.

Key responsibilities

• Manage the full lifecycle of high-profile architectural projects, coordinating with internal teams and external consultants
• Lead, mentor and develop a multidisciplinary team of architects, designers and project managers
• Act as key liaison between clients, consultants and contractors, and resolve design and technical challenges
• Foster relationships with high-profile clients, represent the firm at industry events and client meetings, and advocate for design-led solutions
• Develop project strategies, timelines and budgets, identify risks early and ensure compliance with UAE building codes and sustainability regulations

Required profile

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Architecture (chartered status preferred)
• 15+ years of experience, including at least 7 years in a senior leadership role
• Proven track record managing high-value, multi-disciplinary projects from concept to completion
• Strong understanding of UAE building codes and regulations; LEED/BREEAM preferred
• Excellent leadership, negotiation and team-building skills
