Project Engineer – Elevator Installation

About the role

The Project Engineer will lead the pre‑installation and installation phases of elevator and escalator projects for Otis in Dubai. You will ensure that all technical, logistical and safety requirements are met while coordinating with contractors, architects and supply‑chain teams.

Key responsibilities

• Manage pre‑installation activities, verify contractual scope and plan material deliveries.
• Monitor shaft readiness and confirm dimensions against approved shop drawings.
• Plan resources and award purchase orders for subcontractors and local materials in partnership with the Project Manager.
• Coordinate shop drawings, technical submittals, material samples, method statements and inspection plans with main contractors, architects and consultants.
• Develop and execute logistic programmes for safe delivery of elevators and escalators within the building.
• Prepare daily, weekly and monthly progress reports and attend regular coordination meetings.
• Identify scope deviations, raise variation orders and ensure technical integration with low‑voltage systems.
• Oversee installation resources, raise material inspection requests, conduct risk assessments and enforce safety procedures.
• Track installation progress using MS Project, Primavera or Excel, raise trouble reports and support installation teams.
• Ensure QA/QC documentation, engineering drawings and manuals are available throughout the project.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years of experience in elevator or construction project engineering.
• Strong knowledge of elevator installation processes, shop drawing interpretation and procurement logistics.
• Proven ability to coordinate multidisciplinary teams and manage supplier relationships.
• Familiarity with safety standards and risk‑assessment practices on construction sites.
