Project Engineering Manager

About the role

The Project Engineering Manager will lead the engineering delivery for high‑voltage substation projects in Abu Dhabi. Reporting to senior management, you will coordinate design, procurement and site execution to ensure timely, cost‑effective completion while maintaining technical excellence.

Key responsibilities

• Align project deliveries with the overall schedule in collaboration with the Project Planning Manager.
• Conduct regular project and internal review meetings to optimise resources and productivity.
• Review and approve designs, calculations and drawings, ensuring timely customer approvals.
• Coordinate with vendors to resolve material delivery issues and support supply‑chain activities.
• Lead BIM implementation across all design disciplines.
• Oversee estimation, Bill of Materials preparation and technical bid evaluations.
• Guide a team of design leads, engineers and draughtsmen, fostering cross‑disciplinary collaboration.
• Provide technical support to site execution teams and manage commercial issues related to equipment design.

Required profile

• Extensive experience in primary and secondary engineering of GIS/AIS substations up to 765 kV.
• Strong knowledge of power equipment selection (transformers, reactors, circuit breakers, disconnectors, instrument transformers).
• Proven ability to manage multi‑disciplinary teams and handle complex project schedules.
• Excellent problem‑solving skills and ability to communicate technical information clearly.
