Project Engineering Manager – UPD

About the role

The Project Engineering Manager – UPD will lead the engineering delivery for high‑voltage substation projects in Abu Dhabi. Reporting to senior management, you will ensure design, procurement and execution are aligned with project schedules and client requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate with the Project Planning Manager to align deliveries with the overall schedule.
• Conduct regular project and internal review meetings to optimise resources and productivity.
• Review designs, calculations and drawings, obtain customer approvals and ensure timely submission.
• Resolve vendor issues, manage material deliveries and support the supply‑chain team.
• Lead a team of design leads, engineers and draughtsmen, providing technical guidance.
• Oversee BIM implementation across the project.
• Prepare accurate Bill of Materials and support BOQ, pre‑bid offers and post‑tender clarifications.
• Ensure manufacturing clearance and communicate deliverable lists with clients.

Required profile

• Proven experience in primary and secondary engineering for substation projects up to 765 kV.
• Strong knowledge of GIS/AIS substation design, equipment selection and interfacing with civil, MEP and instrumentation disciplines.
• Ability to multitask, meet tight deadlines and support site execution teams.
• Leadership skills to manage and develop design engineers and draughtspeople.
