Project Finance Senior Associate

About the role

We are seeking a Senior Associate to join our Project Finance team in Dubai. The role sits within A&O Shearman’s Energy, Natural Resources and Infrastructure practice, advising sponsors, lenders and governments on complex infrastructure transactions.

Key responsibilities

• Draft, review and amend project finance documentation.
• Provide strategic guidance to clients, leveraging market awareness and sector knowledge.
• Manage client expectations, deadlines and overall project delivery.
• Collaborate across teams, departments and jurisdictions in a fast‑paced environment.
• Supervise and mentor junior team members.
• Identify business development opportunities and support firm‑wide initiatives.
• Assist with billing activities and ensure timely invoicing.

Required profile

• Qualified lawyer with 5–7 years post‑qualification experience (PQE).
• Strong track record in infrastructure and/or project finance.
• Understanding of the energy and infrastructure sectors.
• Excellent client‑facing and communication skills.
