Proposal Engineer – Protection Automation

About the role

Join Siemens Smart Infrastructure in Abu Dhabi as a Proposal Engineer focused on Protection Automation. You will work on technical and commercial bid preparation, turning customer enquiries into successful orders while supporting the delivery of sustainable energy solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare technical and commercial bids, respond to tender clarifications, and develop cost estimates.
• Submit quotations, follow up with customers, and support the sales process to win orders.
• Provide technical support for sales, project management, and engineering teams.
• Coordinate with site engineers, procurement, third‑party suppliers, and internal departments to ensure timely offer preparation.
• Hand over awarded projects to execution teams and assist with project execution coordination.
• Assist other departments (e.g., Siemens One) to promote inter‑departmental cooperation.

Required profile

• Experience with SCMS products and systems.
• Knowledge of IEC 61850, Modbus, Profibus, IEC 101, IEC 104 or similar communication protocols.
• Experience with cyber‑security solutions for SCMS (IDS, whitelisting, backup, logging, etc.) following IEC standards.
• Ability to review detailed customer requirements and propose optimized technical and commercial solutions.
• Risk‑management skills are preferred.
