QA/QC Inspector – Welding

About the role

The QA/QC Inspector – Welding will oversee all welding activities on oil & gas projects, ensuring compliance with ADNOC standards and client specifications. This role involves coordination with construction, engineering, NDT and third‑party inspection teams both on‑shore and offshore.

Key responsibilities

• Inspect welding of piping, pipelines, structures, pressure vessels and equipment against approved WPS, PQR and drawings.
• Verify welder qualifications, material identification, joint fit‑up and consumable storage conditions.
• Monitor pre‑heating, inter‑pass temperature, welding parameters and post‑weld heat treatment.
• Coordinate and review NDT activities (RT, UT, MT, PT, PMI) and manage repair of welding defects.
• Prepare and submit inspection requests, maintain weld maps, inspection records and non‑conformance reports.
• Support pressure testing, mechanical completion, final hand‑over and offshore brownfield shutdowns.

Required profile

• Diploma or bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Metallurgical or Welding Engineering.
• Minimum 8 years welding inspection experience in oil & gas, including 3–5 years offshore.
• Valid CSWIP 3.1 or AWS‑CWI certification; ASNT/PCN Level II preferred.
• Strong knowledge of ASME Section IX, ASME B31.3, API 1104, AWS D1.1 and ADNOC standards.
• Valid BOSIET/HUET certification and offshore medical fitness preferred.

Required skills

• Welding inspection and qualification procedures (WPS, PQR, WPQ).
• Nondestructive testing methods: RT, UT, MT, PT, PMI.
• Post‑weld heat treatment, hardness testing and material certification.
• Interpretation of engineering drawings, isometrics and welding symbols.
• Use of weld maps, inspection databases and quality reporting tools.
