QC Inspector (Welding & Structural)

About the role

SGS is seeking an experienced QC Inspector specialized in welding and structural inspection for offshore projects. The role involves ensuring that fabrication, assembly, and installation activities meet stringent quality and safety standards.

Key responsibilities

• Perform welding and structural inspections during fabrication, assembly, and installation.
• Verify compliance with approved WPS, ITPs, drawings, and project specifications.
• Monitor and witness NDT activities and coordinate with NDT contractors.
• Ensure fabrication complies with international codes and standards such as AWS D1.1, ASME, and EEMUA 158.
• Conduct inspections for offshore topside and jacket fabrication, including fit‑up, welding, and dimensional checks.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Mechanical Engineering.
• 10+ years total experience, including at least 5 years after CSWIP/AWS certification.
• Proven experience in offshore topside and jacket fabrication.
• CSWIP 3.1 / 3.2 and AWS certifications (mandatory).
