Quality Control Inspector – Coating (Oil & Gas)

About the role

SGS is seeking a qualified Quality Control Inspector specialized in coating to join its Abu Dhabi team. You will be responsible for ensuring that all coating activities on oil and gas construction projects meet the required quality standards and specifications.

Key responsibilities

• Organise and execute on‑site inspection jobs with professionalism.
• Carry out inspections of materials, equipment and construction/installation activities, including power transformers, switchboards, batteries, lighting systems, RTUs, instruments and cables.
• Issue quality records and, when necessary, prepare non‑conformance reports for the QC Supervisor.
• Verify compliance with the Quality Control Plan, inspection test plans and relevant engineering standards and codes.
• Manage documentation certifying tests, controls and inspections, and ensure correct implementation of approved procedures.
• Validate special processes and confirm workers’ qualifications for coating and painting work.

Required profile

• Diploma or degree in Engineering or equivalent.
• Minimum 7 years of experience in the oil and gas construction sector.
• BGAS, NACE or Frosio certification preferred.
• ADNOC approval in coating/painting is an advantage.
• Familiarity with applicable engineering standards and codes used in QC surveillance for EPC projects.
