Quantity Surveyor Engineer – MEP

About the role

The Quantity Surveyor Engineer – MEP will manage all cost aspects of construction projects from concept to completion, ensuring financial targets are met while maintaining quality standards. You will work closely with project managers, contractors and clients to deliver value for money and uphold contractual obligations.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare detailed cost estimates and budgets based on drawings, specifications and historical data.
• Develop and maintain cost control procedures, forecast expenses and track actual spend against the budget.
• Review and approve contractor invoices, payment certificates and variation claims.
• Monitor project progress, identify cost risks and provide corrective recommendations.
• Assist in final account preparation, resolve disputes and ensure timely financial close‑out.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering or a related discipline.
• Minimum 5 years of quantity surveying experience on large‑scale commercial or residential projects.
• Professional certification such as MRICS or RICS is a plus.
• Proven ability to manage budgets, variations and final accounts.

Required skills

• Cost estimation and budgeting using CostX, Bluebeam, Buildertrend or MS Excel.
• Tendering and bidding preparation for MEP and construction works.
• Contract management (FIDIC, NEC) and variation/claims handling.
• Value engineering and cost‑saving analysis.
• Quantity take‑offs and measurement for MEP installations.
