Rail RAMS Specialist

About the role

The Rail RAMS Specialist will lead reliability, availability and maintainability (RAM) analyses for rail systems and assets, ensuring they meet required performance, safety and lifecycle targets. This role supports design optimisation, operational efficiency and asset integrity through quantitative reliability engineering.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct RAM studies for rail systems and related assets.
• Perform reliability modelling, simulation and statistical analysis.
• Develop and maintain reliability block diagrams (RBDs) and fault tree analyses (FTAs).
• Support Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (FMEA/FMECA) activities.
• Analyse equipment failure data to identify trends and improve system performance.
• Provide input for maintenance strategies and spare‑parts optimisation.
• Support lifecycle cost analysis and asset performance forecasting.
• Collaborate with engineering, operations and maintenance teams to enhance asset reliability.
• Prepare technical reports and present findings to stakeholders.
• Ensure compliance with industry standards and best practices.

Required profile

• University degree in a relevant engineering discipline or equivalent experience.
• Minimum five (5) years of proven experience in reliability engineering, RAM analysis or asset performance management.
• Experience in infrastructure, oil & gas, power generation, transportation or similar asset‑intensive industries is preferred.
