R&D Supervisor – Formulation Development (Pharma)

About the role

The role leads pharmaceutical formulation development and optimisation, primarily for topical semisolid and liquid dosage forms, with solid oral dosage work also valued.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and optimise creams, gels, ointments, lotions, solutions, suspensions, emulsions and other liquid/semisolid formulations.
• Conduct pre‑formulation studies, including physicochemical characterisation, solubility, stability screening and API‑excipient compatibility.
• Perform formulation development runs for oral solid, semisolid and liquid dosage forms, including trial batches and optimisation.
• Validate analytical methods, prepare protocols and final reports, and execute recovery, cleaning and verification studies.
• Analyse raw materials, conduct physicochemical testing, and perform stability testing according to SOPs.
• Calibrate instruments, issue specifications and test certificates, and document all activities in product development reports.
• Participate in OOS and NCR investigations, manage deviations, CAPAs and SOP preparation using AmpleLogic eQMS.

Required profile

• Degree in Pharmacy from a recognised university.
• 5–8 years of experience in pharmaceutical R&D, with strong formulation and development expertise.
• Good knowledge of GMP requirements and pharmaceutical development practices.
• Excellent analytical, problem‑solving, documentation and communication skills.
