About the role

The Regional Shop Design Direction Leader will drive IKEA’s store design and visual merchandising strategy across the region, ensuring the brand remains the leader in home furnishing experiences. This role blends creativity with commercial insight to shape store layouts, product presentation and customer journeys that boost sales and long‑term profitability.

Key responsibilities

• Lead regional communication and interior design teams in planning home‑furnishing initiatives aligned with the business calendar.
• Plan, develop and implement new shop design and visual merchandise solutions across all store areas.
• Coach and inspire shop design colleagues to innovate range presentation and visual impact.
• Apply consumer buying‑behavior insights to meet current and future market demands.
• Strengthen the competitiveness of IKEA’s product range throughout the region.
• Adapt global design solutions to meet national market needs while preserving brand identity.
• Serve as the visual‑merchandise competence reference, elevating overall team skills.
• Act as a change sponsor, guiding co‑workers through new processes and concepts.

Required profile

• Proven experience in shop design, visual merchandising or retail space planning.
• Strong understanding of consumer behavior and its impact on store presentation.
• Ability to lead, coach and influence cross‑functional teams.
• Excellent communication skills and collaborative mindset.
