Registered Nurse - Labour & Delivery Room

About the role

Bareen International Hospital in Abu Dhabi is hiring a Registered Nurse for its Labour & Delivery Room. The nurse provides and coordinates patient care, educates patients and the public about health conditions, and gives advice and emotional support to patients and their families. The role follows the NMC Nursing Mission, Vision and Values and the UAE NMC Code of Conduct.

Key responsibilities

• Assess patients' needs, determine nursing diagnoses and create and evaluate care plans with the medical team
• Record vital signs, administer medications, IV fluids and blood products, and monitor for side effects and reactions
• Provide wound care, assist in invasive and non-invasive procedures, and prepare patients for examinations and treatment
• Facilitate safe admission and discharge, and educate patients and the public
• Perform essential life support (BLS)
• Manage deteriorating patients promptly using the EWS 2 escalation process and emergency algorithms
• Supervise and mentor pre-registration nurses and health care workers, and take part in teaching, mentorship, clinical supervision and quality improvement activities
• Follow infection prevention and control policies, including hand hygiene and environmental care

Required profile

• DOH licensed Registered Nurse
• Ability to work under the indirect supervision of senior nursing staff
• Commitment to patient safety, confidentiality and equality and diversity
