Regular or Visiting Faculty – Industrial Engineering (Fall 2027)

About the role

The Department of Industrial Engineering at the American University of Sharjah is seeking candidates for regular and visiting faculty positions at the assistant, associate or full professor level, starting in the Fall 2027 semester. The visiting appointment is a one‑year renewable contract, while the regular appointment is a three‑year renewable contract focused on establishing a high‑level research program.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver undergraduate and graduate courses in Industrial Engineering, covering core and elective subjects.
• Develop and lead research projects that attract internal and external funding, contributing to the department’s research agenda.
• Supervise graduate students, including theses and project work, and provide mentorship.
• Participate in departmental service, curriculum development, and accreditation activities.

Required profile

• Hold a PhD in Industrial Engineering.
• Demonstrated teaching experience with a significant teaching portfolio, including a list of courses taught or that can be taught.
• Proven record of research excellence and ability to secure funding (highly desirable).
• Experience with the American model of higher education is strongly preferred.
• Ability to contribute to the department’s growth and diverse academic community.
