Reinsurance Manager

About the role

The Reinsurance Manager will report to the Chief Operating Officer and lead the coordination of all reinsurance activities in Abu Dhabi, aligning with the company’s strategy, policies and regulatory requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Manage and administer active reinsurance treaties and placements.
• Handle reinsurance accounting, treaty accounts, settlements and reconciliations.
• Monitor reinsurance recoverables, outstanding balances and prepare treaty accounts, bordereaux and reports.
• Coordinate recoveries, claims notifications and communications with reinsurers and brokers.
• Maintain accurate treaty records, registers, contracts and correspondence.
• Oversee treaty renewals, notice periods and contractual obligations.
• Review reinsurance capacity and structures based on business and portfolio needs.
• Collaborate with Finance, Claims, Underwriting and other departments to ensure compliance with financial reporting, solvency and regulatory requirements.
• Lead and supervise a small reinsurance team and provide management reports on reinsurance activities.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Commerce, Finance, Insurance or a related discipline.
• Professional qualification in Insurance and/or Reinsurance.
• Minimum 5 years of relevant reinsurance experience, preferably in the UAE or GCC market.
• Proven experience in treaty administration, reinsurance accounting, recoveries and settlements.
• Previous experience supervising a small reinsurance team.
• Good understanding of insurance and solvency requirements in the GCC/UAE.
