Relationship Officer Business Account Acquisition

About the role

The Relationship Officer – Business Account Acquisition will facilitate the end‑to‑end account opening process for Business Banking customers, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, internal policies and service level agreements. The role involves reviewing account opening documentation, conducting due diligence, coordinating with stakeholders, and delivering a seamless onboarding experience for clients.

Key responsibilities

• Process business account opening applications accurately and within agreed turnaround times.
• Review account opening forms and supporting documents to ensure completeness and compliance.
• Verify trade licences, constitutional documents, shareholder information and authorized signatory details.
• Coordinate with Relationship Managers, Sales Teams and clients to obtain missing documentation or clarifications.
• Perform KYC, Customer Due Diligence (CDD) and Enhanced Due Diligence (EDD) checks where applicable.
• Ensure adherence to AML, sanctions screening, FATCA, CRS and other regulatory requirements.
• Escalate high‑risk cases and exceptional approvals to compliance and risk teams.
• Maintain accurate customer records and ensure periodic updates.
• Ensure all customer onboarding requirements are fulfilled prior to account activation.
• Liaise with internal stakeholders to ensure a seamless onboarding experience.
