Resident Engineer - Electrical OHL

About the role

As a Resident Engineer – Electrical OHL you will lead the delivery of overhead transmission line projects in Abu Dhabi, overseeing all phases from initiation through close‑out while ensuring compliance with client requirements, industry standards and budgetary targets.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and manage overhead transmission line projects, defining scope, schedule and budget.
• Develop and coordinate project plans with internal teams and external stakeholders, allocating resources and managing risks.
• Review engineering designs, drawings and specifications for compliance with regulatory guidelines.
• Procure materials, equipment and services, and supervise subcontractors, suppliers and vendors.
• Oversee construction activities such as tower erection, conductor stringing and hardware installation, ensuring quality, safety and efficiency.
• Conduct regular site inspections, HSE audits, quality‑assurance checks and progress review meetings.
• Verify as‑built documentation, certify materials and measurements, and manage project close‑out documentation.
• Provide technical guidance to the project team, resolve technical queries and support risk mitigation.
• Ensure adherence to environmental, permitting and safety regulations throughout the project lifecycle.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Electrical Engineering; Master’s degree preferred.
• Professional Engineer (PE) licence preferred.
• Minimum 15 years of experience in electrical engineering, specifically in overhead transmission line projects.
