Resident Engineer

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Resident Engineer to lead the post‑contract construction supervision team on a civil building project in Abu Dhabi. The role ensures timely, on‑budget delivery while maintaining contractual compliance and safety standards.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise site engineers and inspectors involved in construction supervision.
• Review shop drawings, design proposals, method statements and RFIs related to drainage and associated works.
• Apply extensive knowledge of civil building project execution.
• Make senior‑level project decisions and liaise with relevant authorities.
• Coordinate activities across disciplines to maintain consistency and integrity of the overall construction.
• Work with the contractor on scheduling and resource allocation.
• Serve as the main point of contact between the engineering consultancy and the client, communicating progress and addressing concerns.
• Ensure safety goals are achieved and oversee implementation of safety procedures.
• Guarantee compliance with Abu Dhabi regulations and the General Conditions of the Contract.

Required profile

• Currently residing in the UAE with proven UAE‑based experience.
• Experience working with engineering consultants on supervision projects.
• Excellent written and verbal English communication skills.
• Ability to prepare instructions, specifications, reports and cost estimates.
• Proven stakeholder management with clients, contractors and regulatory authorities.
• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering.
