Resident Engineer - Tunnel SCADA & ITS Deployment

About the role

Parsons is seeking a Resident Engineer to lead the construction supervision of Tunnel SCADA and ITS deployment in Sharjah. The role involves overseeing daily construction activities, ensuring projects are delivered on schedule, within budget, and meet the required quality and safety standards.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee daily construction progress and ensure successful execution.
• Manage and direct multidisciplinary project teams, including specialists, engineers, inspectors, and quantity surveyors.
• Coordinate with contractors and other construction teams to maintain smooth project flow.
• Review and approve technical submittals, shop drawings, and related documentation.
• Manage Health & Safety and Environmental Protection standards on site.
• Handle project issues, mitigate risks, and provide proactive solutions.
• Monitor technical and financial proposals, evaluate constructability, and oversee technology deployment.
• Ensure effective communication with the client/PMC, contractors, and relevant authorities.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.
• Minimum 15 years of post‑graduate experience, including at least 7 years in a managerial or technical lead role on large‑scale infrastructure projects in the UAE.
• Extensive experience in tunnel projects involving SCADA, MEP and civil works.
• Proven ability to handle technical and financial proposals, evaluate constructability and solve technical challenges during construction.
• Experience managing Health & Safety and Environmental Protection for deep underground structures.
• Fluent English (written and spoken) with strong technical writing skills; Arabic is an advantage.
• Strong leadership, problem‑solving and coordination abilities.
