Rolling Stock Technician

About the role

The Rolling Stock Technician provides engineering and maintenance services for Dubai Metro rolling stock and maintenance vehicles. Working under the Rolling Stock Team Leader, the role ensures safe, reliable operation of passenger service, engineering support, shunting vehicles and wagons.

Key responsibilities

• Assist the Team Leader with preventive and corrective maintenance, minor modifications and routine inspections.
• Perform technical cleaning, replace consumables, and carry out minor repairs on electromechanical assemblies.
• Test functional performance using various instruments, install electrical/electronic parts, and align components with hand and power tools.
• Operate metal‑working machines, repair hydraulic and pneumatic systems, and verify dimensions against specifications.
• Diagnose faults quickly, replace components on‑site or in the depot, and conduct wheel‑truing and bogie overhauls as scheduled.
• Maintain accurate records in a computerized maintenance management system and follow Permit‑to‑Work procedures.
• Provide shift and emergency coverage and rotate to the First Line Response team when required.

Required profile

• Working knowledge of car body, bogie, suspension, couplers, draft gears, operator controls and propulsion systems.
• Ability to follow strict maintenance schedules and safety procedures.
• Willingness to work in a fast‑paced, shift‑based environment.
