Safety Engineer

About the role

KONE Middle East, Turkey & Africa is expanding and seeks a Safety Engineer to join its on‑site team in the United Arab Emirates. Reporting to the Safety Manager, you will help enhance safety management, understanding, and performance across the designated organizational area.

Key responsibilities

• Support implementation, maintenance and continuous improvement of KONE’s safety management system, covering workers, users and third‑party safety.
• Promote a caring safety culture and act as a role model for safety practices.
• Compile, maintain and improve safety documentation together with the unit safety team.
• Participate actively in the unit safety committee and other safety forums.
• Provide professional safety advice to the unit and support safety‑related change projects.
• Plan, execute and monitor projects aimed at improving safety performance.
• Collaborate with customers, partners and KONE subcontractors on safety matters.
• Develop, review and exercise crisis and emergency response plans.
• Monitor and develop safety risk management processes, tools and practices.
• Collect, measure and report leading and lagging safety data, ensuring accuracy.
• Conduct regular safety audits, identify risks and support audit process improvements.

Required profile

• Minimum of 24 months (2 years) experience in safety engineering or a related safety role.
• Ability to work on‑site in the UAE and collaborate with global, regional and unit teams.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving capabilities.
